The classic parent album | Jorgensen 9×9 inch Studio matted album
There are two ways to look at a parent album from a wedding.
If your own album is a modern book, either Fine Art or coffee table style, then you can have a copy (or two copies) made at the same time that yours is printed. It’ll be smaller (usually around 6 inches along the long side), and the cover might not be the same material (a leather cover on a parent album is unusual), but otherwise it’s an exact duplicate.
The alternative is to create something bespoke, with a selection of photos specially chosen for your mum and dad. Usually, there’ll be some shots of the ceremony, some portraits of you and your partner, and a handful of group shots; plus maybe a shot of the venue, flowers, other relatives – you get the idea. It’s quite easy to compose a list of 20 to 30 photographs, which is the perfect number.
Jorgensen offer a 9×9 inch matted album that is perfect for a parent album like this. It’s small enough to sit comfortably in the hand, but allows a 6×4 inch print to be placed on each side of the page.
A Studio album like this comes with a fixed number of pages, to accommodate 20 or 30 photographs, with a choice of neutral covers.
Yes, you could go online and have a coffee table book printed (and it’d be cheaper, let’s be blunt about that). But the quality of a properly made Studio album shines through years later, when it still looks good while cheap alternatives have fallen apart. Although it’s smaller, it’s made to the same high standards as the main Jorgensen wedding albums.
Very simple, beautifully elegant.
