Jorgensen 12×12 inch Art album | Sarah and Nick at Arley Hall
The Jorgensen Art album is a modern update of the classic wedding album. A matted style wedding album, with a leather cover. Twelve inches square. ‘Real’ photographs, in your choice of gloss or matt finish, in overlay mats (or window mounts, as they’re also known). But with a subtle modern twist, in the shape of the crisp styling the pages have, echoed in the finish of the cover.
If there’s anything of the traditionalist about you, then this is the album for you. Although, as everything is designed and cut by computer, you can throw out of the window any ideas of the kind of stuffy album your parents or grandparents have gathering dust in the attic. You know the sort of thing – one photo per side, in either a square, rectangular or oval overlay. No, those really are things of the past, although the best attributes of tradition – craftsmanship and quality – are present in spades.
While I like to keep to my principles of making the layout on each spread balanced if possible, with plenty of room for the photos to ‘breathe’, there’s enough scope to make the design as fresh and modern as you want.
Sarah and Nick married on New Year’s Eve at Arley Hall. Their wedding had a lovely touch of tradition about it (stately home setting, morning suits for the guys) and a few modern twists (the double decker bus that brought all the guests from the hotel, the Top Gun tribute in the evening). A Jorgensen Art matted album suits this sort of wedding and style down to the ground.
With a plain black leather cover and crisp white pages, this album looks as smart as it gets. It contains 100 photographs selected by the couple, designed over thirty sides (although please note that, unlike the Fine Art albums, the first and last spreads are single side only).
